(please can you avoid using an online translator, as they are never right) thankyou ‘Unemployment for Tenerifes inhabitants has almost doubled in the last year. There are two main factors that are influencing this. It is true that many jobs are being taken by people from overseas. Alot of the buisnesses in Tenerife are catering for tourists, these therefore are dominated by English, Itallian or Germans. In many cases they only employ workers of their own nationalities to fill seasonal job placements. The other factor is the current economic recession the world is facing. Its hard not to notice how hard this is hitting the tourism industry in the south. You can see it on the street, when im driving to work many bars are empty and many are closed. Its scary, just walking around, the number of houses and apartments up for sale or rent is incredible. You can tell there is less work down in tourist land because the waiters aren’t having their afterwork drinks in the bars. There is just very little money around and sadly, it’s getting worse. By the time we get into April it is going to be desperate. Thankyou everyone has helped a lot.. Xoxox. From what I can tell… Meamo lagrande negro tuchipato
We want somewhere quiet and plan to do a lot of walking. Thanks for taking the time to answer SMB but that company doesnt cover Tenerife. What I found out was – Hello, I am of the Canary Islands and I recommend to you that if you come for here following which you like you look for different zones where to sleep. For example: If you look for a little more beach, the best thing is to go to a Hotel The field and tranquillity, one marries rural of the outskirts. But you come to see the island of Tenerife generally, in a hotel, since the distances are short here and of the North to the South you take only one hour. I leave information Web you:

January 2011 sees the launch of the wide range of properties available at Chayofa Country Club under the new and highly beneficial co-ownership scheme. Quite simply, it will make available a selection of luxurious properties to those looking for a second home in a location that is often referred to as ‘The Island of Eternal Spring’. Co-ownership will make possible the purchase of a superior property to those who previously only dreamed of buying a little piece of Tenerife. The scheme is simple. Title deed ownership for useable periods, i.e. one month, two months or more will mean that other like-minded owners will share in the community fees and other year-round costs normally associated with outright ownership. In other words, each owner is only paying for the amount of time that they can but each owner has title deed possession, which offers the opportunity to not only spend time in wonderful surroundings, but also the possibility of investment reward in the years to follow.
Chayofa Country Club is located just over a mile away from the popular town of Los Cristianos and offers a residential location which is peaceful and full of character, whilst still offering close proximity to the shops, bars, restaurants and beaches which are nearby. Chayofa, therefore, offers the best of both worlds. A tranquil environment in which to spend time, and a location which is easily accessible to the hustle and bustle of both Los Cristianos and also, Las Americas and the Costa Adeje coast. Sizes of property vary from studios up to the highly spacious and sumptuously appointed 3 bedroom villas which come complete with master en-suite, split level lounge featuring wonderful views toward the sea, sauna, and swimming pool. No expense has been spared to make certain that each owner can enjoy the highest possible standard and take advantage of an investment which ultimately will reap great rewards for those who have chosen to purchase within this select and amenity rich development.

I´ve owned property in Tenerife for the last few years, I use it just as a holiday home maybe twice or three times in a year. I’m looking to sell my apartment now. I realise that there has been recent changes for the amount of capital gains tax charges. Does anyone have more information that they can give me. Thanks. John. Well, I have your answer. Hi John, I work in Tenerife for an Estate Agent. When you come to sell your apartment you will be liable for Capital Gains Tax at 18% of your profit. As a non-resident it is usual for the buyer to retain 3% of the sales price to pay these taxes. It is extremely unkind to try and dodge this tax, as I am sure you would not want someone to do this to you. I would advise anyone who is buying a property from a non-resident to retain the 3% and ensure the taxes are paid, otherwise they will be levied against the property and therefore the new owner. Be honest pay your taxes. Chris sorry could not answer again, hope you see this. If you click on my picture and then go to my public profile you will be able to send me an e mail. I dont think it is allowed for me to put the company name on here or a phone number.

I work for a Spanish developing company with several apartments on sale in Tenerife, and we are considering the English real estate market. So, this is a question for estate agents in UK: how much the apartment/house. owner must pay to the estate agency/agent in terms of sales commission? Please answer in terms of % of the sales price. By the way, another question, for any one in general: I’d be very grateful to have a list of advertising webs in the UK which are completely free when placing an ad. After looking around, I learned — Spanish property prices have collapsed . . . And as far as most Brit’s are concerned, the Spanish market is full of scam artists, crooks and illegal builds with developers going bust left right & center (and taking deposits with them) . You couldn’t give away a Spanish holiday home to a Brit these days .
Just wondering what people think of these two places – going to Tenerife for 1 week but not sure which place to stay. Las americas seams to have more places to stay than Los cristianos but ive heard reports that it is quite rowdy in las americas. I’m 23 and my boyfriend is 22 so too much noise is not too much of a problem really. Any advice or feedback is greatly appreciated. After speaking to others on the web, I found the answer. Americas is the all go place as in non stop. Personally didn’t like the place myself. . Blackpool with heat and Cockroaches… But HELL your 23 and you can’t get enough noise and 10 minutes sleep is enough for anyone right (lol) Actually 23 I was in Ibiza Enjoy it mate coz you soon start collecting cob webs. . Xx
I’m looking for a cheap apartment in tenerife to rent on the 25th july for up to 9 ppl . In los cristianos or las americas. I was so glad to find this — no such thing that time of the year. You need to get out of town, to get cheap, veronica’s area no way. If you are only there for a week then pay the same as evryone else. If you are there for more time ie a month then you may have a chance for a short term let. If you are a bunch of guys then thats out. Check out the local radio stations websites. www. Powerfmradio.
